Resort Review

We went to Cabo San Lucas in March 04 and were pleasantly surprised. My girlfriend is in charge of research and development for our dive trips. She mentioned we can have a great vacation and I could get some dives in lovely Mexico.

She suggested we stay at the Pueblo Bonito Rose Hotel.

After many days of reviewing it on trip advisor I gave the final approval:

We landed on-time in Mexico and not much fuss through customs. However, although in Mexico, Coronas are 5 Dollars at the door to the parking lot...
If you are looking for a bargain place to stay, STOP HERE. this is First Class accomodations, with a price to match. However, you do get what you pay for. A nice clean room , with a beautiful ocean view. Insist on it! The people at the front desk will try to send you to non-view room if you are not sharp.

I had heard much ado about time share sharks. Now, I am a city boy and maybe they knew that. "No" means "no". If you mean no, walk away. Don't stand there and listen to their pitch if you dont want to. It's that easy. I had read alot of reports about people being hassled by time share people. Not me. Maybe it's because I went diving almost everyday. My girlfriend went on the tour and received around $200 bucks, thats not too bad!!! Also they gave a tour of their new facility the Sunset ... Gorgeous !

The food was plentiful and delicious..They have two restaurants on premises. Heavy on the Mexican flavor.. but with an excellent view of the ocean. Very casual dining.

The Spa was excellent. I had two massages and the facilities are awesome. They have two waterfall style hot tubs in each Mens/Womens area. They whole resort was immaculate. They had droves of staff, but they blended into the colorful array.

Speaking of staff, they are some of the best. If we were down at the pool and were retiring to our room before dinner to freshen up , they would happily send up our happy hour bill (I can't forget to mention the 2 for 1 drinks!!) to our room. I think we only had room service twice for breakfast as we ate out every night..

We went into town three or four nights, I can't remember, everyone was giving me tequila. But DO check out Sammy Hagar's Place, Cabo Wabo. It's quiet during the daytime, but gets busy at night. Squid roe and a few other local places stand out and the dining is typically surf/turf.

Also check out the Whale watching trip! I ve never seen so many whales close up!

The concierge took care of everything, make sure and make them your friends. Alot of the staff really go out of their way to make sure everyone is happy. For sure we were!!
