INCREDIBLE! 'Tonic Immobility' - Shark Week Episode.

I thought I had seen it all when it comes to sharks.  I was way wrong!

This years Shark Week on Discovery Channel, ended wiith "Sharkman" - an incredible story of a man who not only swims unprotected with Great White sharks, but he touches... strokes... and even puts them in a sleep-like trance using a gentle touch.  Out of all the Shark Week programs this year - this is the one that you just can't miss - whether you are a fan of sharks, or not.

Watch as Mike "The Sharkman" Rutzen learns to expand his knowledge of "Tonic Immobility".   He visits different people who use different methods of putting different types of smaller sharks into Tonic.  His goal is to learn enough about tonic to put large Tiger and Great White sharks into a deep tonic state.  It is fun to watch as he shows genuine excitement at each new breakthough.

Be sure to click on the photos for a larger view!

This program is 2 hours long, and in my opinion, one of the best shark programs ever.  Check out Shark Week at for future episodes.

Did you also see the guy who got bit in about waist-deep water on camera? I guess he had been doing this for quite some time but luck ran out... it was nasty to see!

INCREDIBLE! 'Tonic Immobility' - Shark Week Episode.

Yeah, I think that premiered on last years Shark Week. It was interesting to see how he recovered and returned to the shark waters - that must have been freaky!
