Resort Review
Beqa Lagoon Resort, FIJI

Overall, I had a fantastic time at Beqa .. Beqa is an island off the main island of NADI in the Fijian Archipelago.
One mis-step I didn't count on was the 2.5 hour van ride from the airport to the port to ride a boat for an hour to the island in choppy water and a small boat.
However, on a positive note, we did get to see most of the island on the van ride.
There are many villages of all denominations , mostly fijian, indian and asian.
The people there were very friendly and outgoing.
Things here are on "FIJI TIME" which took some getting used to , considering the rush-rush of our normal, daily hectic schedules.
Here, you can truly unwind and relax. You lose track of days and time. Especially when you cros over the international time /date line. We left on Monday afternoon and arrived Wednesday morning at 5:00 am Fiji time. The plane rides to and from were uneventful. Air Pacific is wonderful. I was fortunate enough to get exit row.
The resort is plush and beautiful. No phones, TV, Internet , no roads or pollution. The people are truly warm and sincere.
The food was very good consisting of lamb, beef, pork, fresh vegetables and fruits and the doubleproof rum is worth buying a bottle or two at the airport on the way back.
The hosts Mark and Sue are very friendly and took care of all of our needs.
We did 10 dives and saw millions of fish and did the shark dive which was worth it. I took over 1000 pictures , so I ll try and only post the best.
The honeymoon BURE is really nice and Id recommend it. I would definitely go back.

mcm007 - BULA! Thanks again for sharing your review! Interesting to see that you liked the food. I wasn't impressed with any place we ate, I just thought it was the norm.
Did you see the tiger sharks on your Beqa shark dive?

we did NOT unfortunately see the tigers, which was disappointing. They did, however, use stock footage on our dvd of our trip. I saw your videos and was anticipating seeing one, but some other time., I did see lemons, bulls , reeef , white tips and nurses. I really enjoyed it. We are looking to maybe go to cozumel next (the new wife hasnt been there yet) and then costa rica.. any trips coming up ? when you get a sec , i submitted 25 pics if you could post them , that would be great.
